Beatrice: The Influences On Making Our Trailer

When given this task, as a group we came together and brainstormed ideas which we had to pitch to each it each other. We decided that it had to be based around a school environment so that it would be feasible and so the various ideas we came up with included:

• A Student who goes on a killing spree killing fellow students and frames students who used to bully him/her
• A group of Students who are the 'humans' left alive and trap themselves inside their school to try and survive
• Chaos breaks out in a High School when a hidden Student is accidentally set free and seeks revenge 
• A Sexist female who sets out to kill the boys that took advantage of her whilst she was vulnerable and drunk
• An abandoned school which is breeding classes full of killers is finally ready and trained however there is also a group of students looking to prohibit them from being released.

After coming up with these ideas, we realised that we didn't have to restrict ourselves to a school based environment and decided to look at popular scary movies we had watched for ideas. The trailers we looked at included:

The Omen

These were all Horror movies which more than one of us had watched and together we pitched the different storylines to each other to get a better understanding of the film. Once this was done, we excluded the movies which we thought were irrelivant-this included the 'House of Wax' and 'Piranha'. We then looked at plots which we knew we didn't have the technology to imitate to a good effect-this included 'The Ring' and 'Candyman. After reviewing all of these movies, the movie we were most interested in adapting was 'The Last Exorcism' as we had all watched it and found it exhilarating. We all added our own visions into how our trailer would be made and made sure it was feasible. After much brainstorming, we finally decided upon our final idea of a child who was possessed by the Devil and was the Devil's 'orphan' and was going to be exorcised by a Priest.

The Last Exorcism
